New Construction Electrical

Rough-in is the phase where all the wiring, boxes, and conduit are installed inside the walls and ceilings before drywall goes up. This includes running circuits from the panel location to every outlet, switch, light fixture, and appliance location in the building. It’s also when we install the panel itself and establish the service entrance. Rough-in has to be completed and inspected before drywall can be closed — so staying on schedule during this phase is critical to keeping the overall project on track.

Trim-out — sometimes called finish or final — is the phase after drywall and painting are complete. This is when we come back to install all the visible electrical components: outlet and switch covers, light fixtures, ceiling fans, appliances, and the breakers in the panel. We also conduct a final check of every circuit before scheduling the final inspection. A clean, thorough trim-out is what separates a professional electrical install from one that creates callbacks down the road.

Both. While a significant portion of our new construction work comes through general contractors and custom home builders, we also work directly with homeowners who are managing their own build or large-scale remodel. If you’re acting as your own GC or working with a builder who needs an electrical sub, Capstone Electric can step in and coordinate directly with whoever is running the project. We’re flexible, easy to work with, and experienced at adapting to different project management styles.

On new construction projects in Texas, electrical work requires permits and typically involves multiple inspections — at minimum a rough-in inspection before drywall and a final inspection at project completion. Capstone Electric handles all permitting and inspection scheduling on our end. We know the local inspectors, we know what they’re looking for, and we make sure our work is ready to pass the first time. You won’t have to chase down permit status or reschedule failed inspections on our account.

Absolutely. Remodel electrical is often more complex than new construction because you’re working within existing walls, around existing wiring, and frequently encountering conditions that weren’t visible until demo day.
